The code problem is related to the EGR valve but not necessarily the valve itself. There is a high input in valve position sensor that can be the sensor ---wiring short to positive and ECM. Check the connections for moisture and are not shorting out. Check that the wiring is not touching any hot parts of the motor and has burnt through.
Pecky’s Vauxhall Decoder – Now only £45 (was £80) When working on Opel / Vauxhall cars, there are several reasons why you would need to know the Security Code of the car or just the individual part in front of you. Well worth having the egr valve off and giving it a good clean with carb cleaner. If symptoms persist, it is probably turbo related a la above forum link. Posted 9 years ago
Having a bit of a nightmare with my 2012 insignia. Ready to give it a good kicking. Car kept going into limp mode on a daily basis with a "service your vehicle" warning. My odb2 reader said "Exhaust gas recirculation flow excessive detected". Took it to a garage who said the egr valve was stuck open because it was so dirty.
EGR valve - plonker : Hi Screwloose. Apologies for not getting back to you immediately - family and grandchildren problems. Yes, I would like a serious answer! The car is a 1.6 Club automatic, first registered May, 2001, engine type Z16SE. The EGR valve was replaced when I bought the car last July.
Replace Intercooler pipe - elbow clip. Going to attempt to replace the intercooler pipe on my 2011 Insignia over the weekend. Looked at some videos at it seems fairly straight forward. However to preempt the job I would like some advise on how to reattach the bottom clip on the elbow.
I'm currently looking into it on my 2.0 cdti. Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App. I have yes, I'd love to get mapped, then stage 2 egr/dpf delete but that costs and I'm skint with new child lol. BigDov said: Iirc its the same sort of process as the 1.9, cover off, egr back right of engine, 6 bolts and an electrical connection and away you go.
Next steps: 1) Check the hoses on the EGR cooler jacket (in case I've got some of the hoses mixed up) - if I get a good diagram. 2) Check the intercooler hose which I undid for better access to the cooler jacket when I changed it. 3) Check the EGR valve that it isn't clogged (although from the MaxiDiag it looks closed when the turbo is running
mokka egr valve needs replaced. I have a regularly serviced mokka with only 29000 miles on the clock. Took it to the garage/dealer who advised that the fault was the egr valve and the cost to clean out and replace it was just short of £2000. (This was reduced to just short of £1500 as I had joined the vauxhall service club)
